Two Prosecutors

This film is subtitled.

TWO PROSECUTORS is a haunting portrait of Stalinist Russia, wherein thousands of letters from falsely accused detainees are burned in a jail cell. Against all odds, one of them lands on the desk of a local prosecutor, who takes it upon himself to seek justice for the prisoner.

Critics have given this 97% positive reviews...

’The film is ?extraordinary?: the measured pace exerts an ever-tightening chokehold of tension, and ?the period details are brilliantly evoked.’ Wendy Ide Obverser UK

’The claustrophobia is total – we’re theatrically trapped in cells and offices, click-clacking down corridors – but the superb Romanian cinematographer Oleg Mutu lights everything like Vermeer doing Borat.’ Tim Robey - Daily Telegraph

’Two Prosecutors is a bleak shout of futility that’s also strangely, bitterly funny.’ Stephanie Zacharek - TIME Magazine.
